HP Proliant Server ML110 G5 Powered Up But No Post & Video.

After trying to install a PCI video card, my Proliant server ML110 G5 ( P/N  445069-001) was toatlly locked up. It powered up , the cooling fans were running, the motherboard LEDs and the front panel switch led were green , but there was no signal to the monitor.

There was no POST or any video on the monitor screen. Is the problem caused by corrupted BIOS?

The monitor and monitor cable are ok.

Would greatly appreciate if someone can help.

Hi,

After installing the PCI Video card, did you plug the monitor cable to the new pci card?

To troubleshoot, did you remove the PCI Video card and tested the server for No Post?

Is the new PCI Video card causing No Post?

Refer to ML110 G5 QuickSpecs and see the Expansion slots specs.

Expansion Slots:
Slot 1: PCI 32-bit/33MHz at 3.3V
Slot 2: PCI-Express x8 connector with x1 link
Slot 3: PCI-Express x8 connector with x1 link
Slot 4: PCI-Express x8 connector with x8 link

Thank You!

Re: HP Proliant Server ML110 G5 Powered Up But No Post & Video.

Hi Suman_1978,

Everything was ok before the installation of the PCI video card in slot 1. Yes, I did plug the cable to the new video card but there was no signal and no Post.

I removed the video card and restarted the server. The fans were running, the LED lights were green but the monitor screen continued to show that there was no signal from the motherboard.

Is the problem caused by corrupted Bios or shorted motherboard circuit?

Thanks
