HP Proliant Servers and Microsoft System Operation Manager 2007 R2
We would like to monitor hardware failures with Microsoft System Operation Manager 2007 R2 on our proliant servers, can someone point us to the documentation on how to make this happen.

You need to install the HP management pack in Operations.
