HP Proliant dl585 RAID question
Hi, I have 4 10k 148GB hard drives in the server. Is it possible and if yes how to configure a RAID1 (2x2) array? Thanks.

Re: HP Proliant dl585 RAID question
Yes it is possible, you should have an smart array controller in this server, so you can configure the array on the BIOS by pressing f8 when prompted for the Option Configuration for array (ORCA) or you can use the Array Configuration Utility on the HP Smart Start CD if you haven's install the OS, that is a graphical interface
Check the Smart array user guide for more information on how to create the array:

Re: HP Proliant dl585 RAID question
Thanks for the quick reply. I was concerned because I didn't know when to press F8. I found out that it can be pressed only in a 3-5 seconds window at the startup as the Smart Array Configuration Utiliy loads.
