HP RAID 5 expansion
Hello,
I have expanded my RAID 5 Array. It had 5 36GB drives, I added sixth 36GB drive and expanded the array. It all worked but when I look at Windows 2003 disk management I see unallocated space. I tried DISPART to extend my current volume but it won't do it. I found out that DISPART cannot extend volumes containing system/boot. How do I add more space without losing my current data on my drive C:
Thanks,
DC9

Re: HP RAID 5 expansion
There are 3rd party utilities where you may have some luck (server magic, etc.). I have had good results with server magic.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: HP RAID 5 expansion
Hi DC9,
if you need extra space on the C:\ disk you could create a new partition in the unallocated space (i.e. D:) and move your swapfile/pagefile from the C:\ to the D:\ drive ...
Just an idea as an alternative because C:\ cannot be extended as you already figured out.
