HP RILOE II remote console doesn't appear

Hi,

I am trying to resolve a RILOE II problem installed on HP Proliant ML 530 G2 Server. The firwares and drivers are already updated. Problem is, when I logon to RILOE II through web browser, it asks for username password, authenticates user id and password, displays RILOE II  status page. When I click on remote console, the console window opens, comes up with certifcate and server name mismatch messages, still asks to continue and then displays grey/white screen with a samll red cross mark (x) in upper right corner under cursor control button tab.

JRE on client machine is already updated to current version 1.6.0_27

Can anybody help, please.?

Hi Fayyaz,

I am not sure of the exact reason why its happening, but here are some suggestions.

1. Check if video output is coming properly from the server.
2. Check if video drivers on the server is correct.
3. When using a RiLOE in an environment with a proxy server, the Remote Console may not function (Do necessary changes in your browser and add an Exception for RiLOE IP Address).
4. On a ProLiant ML530 G2 Server, the PCI-X slot (which is the last one) is recommended for Remote Insight Board installation due to internal cabling requirements.

Thank you, here is the reply to your suggestions:

Video output: KVM is attached to RILOE II Card and local monitor works fine

Video Drivers and firmware already updated

No Proxy/Gateway environment, I am connecting RILOE port directly through switch.

RILOE II Card is already installed in PCI-X Slot with internal cable connected to Board.

A little background of what actions already been taken to resolve the problem:

• ReInstalled Drivers for RILOE II
• Upgraded Firmware (Once Remote Console applet appeared and rendered access to remote console on Remote Insight management Console)
• Applied all possible cable subsets for KVM, Even replaced external KB Mouse.
• Removed Internal ILO cable.
• Reconnected Internal cable and replaced external cables to system ports by removing ILO adapter cable.
• Removed ILO Card and replaced a new RILOE II card (Provided by customer)
• Re-flashed firmware
• Planned to downgrade JRE to 1.4.0 on client machine

Try JRE 1.4.2.12

I beleive that's the last version that worked well with the old RILOE II cards.  Also you might need to use IE6.
