HP Rack and Power Manager - eMail Server Setup

We´ve just installed this tool on a Windows XP SP2 Workstation. If we want to config the
"eMail Server Setup" with the "IP Address for SMTP Email Server", at the moment we use T-Online so the server-adress ist 194.25.134.97
and try then to give a test, the following error comes: "your test email encountered an error, please check your settings on the email Server Setup Page and verify that your email Server can accept SMTP connections. If we use Outlook for testing on the same adress it works fine. Who about the user-name which want´s to connect to the mail-server? Must this be an internal-server, or could it be an regular server in the web?
