HP SUM Failed to discover

Ontrying to run the HP Smart Update Manager on a ProLiant ML370 G4 I get a "Failed to discover message on the HP SUM screen and the following error in the Windows Event Log: Faulting application hpsum_discmgr.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module hpsum_discmgr.exe, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x003c1441
