HP Smart Array P410

Hi,

In my new job, I inherited a DL 180 G6 server from the previous network guy, which is configured on a RAID 5 using a Smart Array P410 controller. As the disk space is getting smaller, I wanted to expand the current logical drive and take advantage of the controller's features.

Upon inspection, it seems there is no license key present for the controller as seen on the ACU. But how can this be, since RAID5 has been configured in the first place? Don't you need a Smart Array license for this?

Also, I also wanted to upgrade the controller's firmware. Is this possible without a current HP support contract?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Paulo

Re: HP Smart Array P410

Hi,

RAID 5 does not require License key, check this link for License features.

Yes, you can download P410 firmware without contract.  Only the BIOS update and SPP requires entitlement.

Thank You!
