HP Smart Array P420i Controller physical failure error
Hello all,
I've encountered an error message at the HP Smart Array P420i Controller and its HPSA1 battery stating that the physical element is missing. I have the batttery capacitor, the errors are still showing. Does it mean that the controller is faulty and needs replacement ? The server is an HP Proliant DL380 Gen8.
Thank you,

Re: HP Smart Array P420i Controller physical failure error
Hi Moham
Thank you for replying, I've already replaced the batteries and the errors keeps on. I'll check the firmware version of the controller, by the way I'm running ESXi V6.5 on it.

Re: HP Smart Array P420i Controller physical failure error
Easier option is running lsscsi command and look for firmware version against p420i.
