HP Smart Storage Handling
Using HP Proliant DL380G7 - 4 HDD - 4 Arrays - Each array containing 1 HDD - All RAID 0. Two slots are empty and I have a spare HDD
Want to replace Array 1 HDD which contains the OS with a new one.
I have bare metal backup as well as full acronis image backup.
Any advise to accomplish this with minimum downtime ?

Re: HP Smart Storage Handling
Firstly for Raid 0, there is no Redundancy disk.
If you need to replace the Raid 0 disk with Operating system installed, so no redundant and no option.
Schedule a downtime, replace the disk in Array 1, create new logical drive and install the Operating System and restore from the back up.
To aviod similiar situation in future, plan for Raid 1, so that you would have redundant disk.

Re: HP Smart Storage Handling
Thanks. Just re-confirming the process. Firstly I need to boot with smart cd. Then delete array 1 and remove old hdd. Then recreate array 1 after putting in new hdd and then do a restore from image. Is it correct ?
