HP Smart Update Manager - Crashes ML110 G7
Good Morning,
I've run the HP SUM from the box locally, and using a remote session, both crashing the system during the same portion. In my case during the "Doing Self Discovery cp010988.exe" phase. The checksum's are ok, this we have 5 of these servers (ML110 G7) and it's happened on all 5 of them. I've re-downloaded the media with the same result, I'm fairly new to this product and would appreciate some direction as to finding the cause.
HP Smart Update Manager Version 5.3.5
Thank you for your time.
Denys

Re: HP Smart Update Manager - Crashes ML110 G7
You can always go backwards (roll back) with the previous known-working SPP.

Re: HP Smart Update Manager - Crashes ML110 G7
This is not a solution!!
I'm having same issues with DL120G7 with latest SPP fully updated
There is no bugcheck, and no event to troubleshoot the matter
How can we tshoot this ? Are there any logs we can check??

Re: HP Smart Update Manager - Crashes ML110 G7
Managed to fix it.
In fact the file cp010988.exe IS downloaded to repository configured to get updates from ftp.hp.com.
So
Move all files from the repository to the swpackages folder itself.
In my case this solved the issue.

Re: HP Smart Update Manager - Crashes ML110 G7
My updates are already splistreamed into swpackages ...
Same behaviour . Reboot when performing self discovery at cp010988.exe against target local server
Removing package from media hangs (or sometimes reboots) server when performing self discovery at cp011000.exe
Removing package from media reboots server when performing self discovery at cp011002.exe
I'm done removing packages (even though they are not applicable to this particular model). That defeats the purpose of having a single point of management, when you need to have multiple content repositories for each model ..
I ask again: is there any debug or logging i can enable to tshoot this issue?
