HP System Management Homepage incomplete (screenshots)

Hi all,

I dont know why but some of my proliant servers dont display their "system model" and "serial number" in HP System Management Homepage.
As you can see below, this is a good server:

And a "unknow server", nothing is monitired:

Is there a missing component on the second one?

Thank you
Mathias

It seems that the hp management web can't communicate with the hpasm Daemon (which interfaces with ipmi).

Do you run Windows or Linux?

Re: HP System Management Homepage incomplete (screenshots)

Thank for your reply,

I'm running Windows 2003 Server R2.
Do you think something is missing (software component)?

Best regards,
Mathias

If you didn't use SmartStart or RDP for the install, SNMP isn't a default part of a Windows Server 2003 install. If you have SNMP installed, it might need to be configured: it needs a community string (both a read and a read/write) and allowed hosts to operate. You can set to allow any host but best practice would be localhost and the HP SIM server (or specific hosts that need to query the device with SNMP).
