HP T1500XR UPS

I have a T1500XR UPS in Sydney Australia that gives the following warning:

Output Source Buck
Also, under the UPS animation, it says On Buck.

So what does this mean? The Input Voltage is 247V, the Output voltage is 218V, and the Output load is 18%, all in the normal range.

Thanks.

Re: HP T1500XR UPS

A buck boost UPS contains line voltage regulation circuitry to maintain the rated output. ie. it 'boosts' the output voltage to the desired value when the actual line input is too low and 'bucks' the line input to the desired output value when it is too high (such as a surge or spike in the mains)

It sounds like your UPS is set to too low an output voltage (unless you have equipment that specifically requires 220v rather than the standard 240v rating, such as some European brands) and so the UPS is informing that it is having to reduce the standard 240v line input down to that level.

Re: HP T1500XR UPS

Hi Todd,

We have issues with the T1500XR (tower)and R1500XR (rackmount)models here in the U.K when input voltages are around the 240V level or just above.

The input setting needs to be changed from 230V (default) to 240V to fix these issues. It sounds like you need to do this too from the configuration panel. It's very easy to do. I have attached a link for the R1500XR user guide (Same procedure) as I can't find the T1500XR version online at the moment.

The only difference is that you need to remove the front panel on the T1500XR by pulling it from the bottom to reveal the configuration panel. See the section on configuration to change the input voltage to 240V.

I hope this helps.

Re: HP T1500XR UPS

Todd,

Just in case anything is misleading in the R1500XR manual, I've managed to locate the proper T1500XR User Guide online.
