HP UPS t1000 INTL with two ML350G4

Hello,

we have 2x ML350 G4 Servers and 1x HP UPS t1000 INTL with one USB and one serial Port

One server is connected by USB and works without problems.
the other server is connected by serial cable on COM1.
In the eventlog I permanent get the error message by DevManBE ID 17 "Connection lost to device"

Can anybody help me to solve this problem?

THANKS

First installation. It's all new hardware.
Now I configured the COM1 on the server to 2400 Baud. I think that's the problem

The baudrate was not the problem because the connection between ups and server works. Sometimes the connection stops for a view seconds.
How can I solve this problem?

hi

why dont you swap connectors between servers?
to verify if you got the same error on the other server

also do you have the latest firmware for that UPS

Re: HP UPS t1000 INTL with two ML350G4

Hi,

I think you can only configure one Management Server which is connected via USB OR Serial. I don't believe you can have two diferrent Management Servers controling the UPS, which is what I think you are trying to do.

According to the Power Manager 4.1 User Guide there is no configuration which shows USB AND Serial connections.

Please see attached extract from the guide.

I think you may need to confirm this with HP. The UPS will come with both cables but you should only connect one of them I believe.

I hope this helps.

That's it, what I'm thinking about. I think, I can only connect one server to the UPS.

OK THANKS
