HP USB 3.0 PCIe adapter available for DL380 G7?
Hello all.
We purchased the HP USB 3.0 PCIe card the same time as our new DL380 G7. It fits in the slot fine. OS Win 2008 SBS recoginizes that it was inserted. Don't remember if the driver installed, don't think so.... bu my real question is there some sort of hardware adapter available for this card that's compatible with the DL380?
The 3.0 card requires power through a cable that normally connects to a traditional SATA power socket. Our server doesn't have this socket anywhere. It does have a small dual socket that combines the data and power cables into one socket for SATA devices.
Any ideas where I can get an adapter to handle this situation? I might have to return the card to HP but I was trying to avoid that.

Re: HP USB 3.0 PCIe adapter available for DL380 G7?
Hi,
Its helpful if you mention the part or model number of the card that you bought.
According to DL380 G7 quickspecs there are none supported http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13595_na/13595_na.HTML
I guess you have bought this card http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13599_na/13599_na.HTML
You may have to check the "USB 3.0 PCIe Card" quickspecs if thats supported on ProLiant Servers.
Good Luck!
I work for HPE.
