HP part numbers for ProLiant 1600 PIII upgrades?

What are all the part numbers for Pentium III CPU and VRM upgrade kits compatable with the ProLiant 1600?

So far the ones I've found are;

124779-B21 PIII 550Mhz (unknown cache)

166146-001 PIII 600Mhz 256K cache

How about a PIII 600Mhz with 512K cache?

What're the switch settings for the higher speed CPUs?

Hi.

The official part numbers are:

6/600 Pentium III 512K Processor Option Kit 153555-B21
6/550 Pentium III 512K Processor Option Kit 124779-B21
6/500 Pentium III 512K Processor Option Kit 401268-B21

You will probably need the following too:
Thermal Upgrade Option Kit (144003-B22)

I'm not sure what you are referring to by VRM.

I'm still looking for the upgrade docs for this server.

Hi

This document should help you with your other queries.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01125244/c01125244.pdf

Its the Maintenance and Service Guide for the Proliant 1200/1600 servers.

VRM - VOLTAGE REGULATOR MODULE(old Terminology)
AKA
PPM - Processor Power Module(New)

I could only find a Spare Part #

329267-001 Processor Power Module (500-600 MHz)

327660-001 Processor Power Module (350- 450 MHz)

Other Part # is provided by andrew.

Hi,

Here is written , that the option kit contains CPU and the corresponding PPM:

http://www.processor.com/listings/detail.aspx?OHID=5091884

And like Andrew mentioned, in Quickspecs there is :
Note: To Upgrade 400 MHz, 450 MHz, or 500 MHz models to the 550 MHz or 600 MHz or when upgrading a 550 MHz to the 600 MHz model, installation of an additional Thermal Upgrade Option Kit (144003-B22) is required. Failure to install this kit when upgrading may cause damage to the server and will void the warranty.
