Can anyone here please suggest me what is the name of the software or the components that I need to install so that my Proliant Servers can send out email when there is a problem with the hardware status detected ?

Hi,

Not sure for which server generation you are looking for.

Have you checked Alert Email in iLO 4 of Gen8 servers?

You can also use HP SIM for remote monitoring.

This is for various different generations of HP ML server from G5 up to G7 (around 87-100 servers) spread across multiple different towns.

The WAN link is connected using MPLS network with 10 MBps between sites and the Data Center.

So I need some suggestion as to when to use HP CIM notifier / Insight notification or to use HP SIM deployed or managed from the main Data Center fo those remote servers.

IMHO the best solution is to use Insight remote support software with or without HP SIM.

Does the HP  Insight remote support software is a components of HP SIM or it is another stand alone freeware that comes with the HP server ?

So in this case, how does the HP SIM and HP Insight Remote Support (IRS) differ from one to another ?

if I perform manual install of HP IRS in all of my Servers from G4 up to G8 can I still manage those servers in HP SIM later on ?

HP SIM has more functionality overall, but is using Insight RS as a plugin for data transfer. Have a look into the manuals linked above.
