Re: HPCISSS.SYS causing Win 2008 blue screen?
let me ask you something to be completely sure
that server has also latest Proliant support pack 8.1 and Firmware CD 8.1 at least latest Firmware for P400 controller.

also what you get in Windows event viewer? and Integrated management log? any messages?
and last I am not sure if that service has something to with storport but I think to update storport driver would be good idea

Re: HPCISSS.SYS causing Win 2008 blue screen?
I removed the hpcisss.sys from autorun (becuase P400 uses hpcisss2.sys).
I also updated the BIOS to 2008.06.25. Updated P400 firmware to 5.20.
Now every time I rebooted the server, I found the following in event viewer:
======================
Idle power management features on processor 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware.
======================
Same error for processor 1, 2 and 3.
I tried to go to BIOS and load system default. Same symptom.
I couldn't tell if this error caused the crash. I'll keep monitoring.
Just for curious, what "firmware problem" it's talking about?
Thanks!

Re: HPCISSS.SYS causing Win 2008 blue screen?
the most probably thing is you will have the power regulator options maybe disable...
which ilo 2 firmware version you have? 1.5?

but all that started after I mean the messages after System ROM update?

Re: HPCISSS.SYS causing Win 2008 blue screen?
However, I got a another blue screen when running MSDT (Microsoft Diagnostic Tool). Seems to be related to exessive I/O activity. MS is still investigating.

HPCISSS.SYS causing Windows Server 2008 blue screen?
I am still in the process of trying to install Windows Server 2008 on ProLiant ML350 G5. After the SmartStart and loaded the Windows Server 2008 DVD it continues on but on the Windows loading screen, the bluescreen appears.
Ive been researching on how to resolve this. I already updated firmware. but how can I update the driver for the P400 Storage Controller, when I cant even install the OS yet.
Any help will be appreciated. I already consumed 2 days trying to resolve this.
Thanks!
