SolutionHmm,
Tough situation.
I do not think it will help. I believe at the moment both of the drives showing errors and they are not accessible.
If I would be in that situation, I woud try below.
- Shut down the sever.
- Take HDD out (remember in which slot was which HDD fitted)
- Turn on the server.
- Once all POST will finish shut down the server.
- Turn off the server
- Put one HDD and turn on the server
- check if you will be able to access the data
- if not turn off the server, take out the HDD and put other one
- turn on the server and put another drive
- check if you can access the data.
If from any of the drives you will be able to access the data than put in second slot fresh HDD in order to replicate the data.
If there will be still no results I would try to upgrade the firmware on the smart array and HDDs. Maybe after firmware upgrade it will resolve some errors.
Let me know about the progress,
Piotr

Re: HPDL380G6 both raid 1 HDD amber light
By following your steps, i manage to recover the data after powering up with only bay 4.
After that reenabled the vg and it is fine.
Thank you for your advise.
