HPE G10 MicroServer
Hi Guys,
so it seems the BIOS cant see the SSD i have connected to a SATA connection anymore?
this has been working fine for 2 years, in the SASA config you can see the drive, it just wont show it as being a bootable device?
if i go into the raid is sees the 4 3.5 drives but not the SSD, the SSD is fine BTW.
Any ideas?
James.

Re: HPE G10 MicroServer
Please let us know was there any changes made to the server due to which the issue is observed now?
What is the controller to which the 4x 3.5 drives & the SSD's are connected?
How many SSD's connected?
Is the OS installed on the SSD?
Is the SSD's visible in the SSA as part of an Array or Logical drive?
Please provide more information if any missed.
Thank you

Re: HPE G10 MicroServer
Please let us know was there any changes made to the server due to which the issue is observed now?
The Bios was upgraded, ive restored back to an earlier version but non of the drives show as being bootable, or even in the boot menu
What is the controller to which the 4x 3.5 drives & the SSD's are connected?
Its the default onboard one
How many SSD's connected?
1 to sata 5
Is the OS installed on the SSD?
yes
Is the SSD's visible in the SSA as part of an Array or Logical drive?
All drives are pressent in the bios under Advanced> sata configuration
so the SSD and all drives are not part of a raid, i booted off the ssd, then configured storagespaces in the operating system.
Thannk you.

Re: HPE G10 MicroServer
From the server model quickspecs, we see there are two controller options as below,
Embedded Storage Controller
Marvell 88SE9230 PCIe to SATA 6Gb/s Controller
NOTE: Supports RAID 0/1/10 only. No FBWC support.
Essential RAID Controller
HPE Smart Array E208i-p SR Gen10 Controller
NOTE: Supports RAID 0/1/5/10. No FBWC support.
Please update us on which controller is being used in the server now.
What is the exact error message observed on the server when attempting to boot?
Ensure the storage controller is set as RAID mode in the BIOS
