HPE ML10 G9 Server iLO

Hi Guys

I have purchsed a ML10 G9 server to use in place of my HP N54l as a plex server. I am having an issue as the server is automatically trying to boot up using iLO and wont let me boot from either a USB device or an installed HDD.

Is there a simple way for me to disable iLO and have it boot normally?

I would also appreciate a simple step by step guide where possible as feel I may be a little out of my depth.

Thanks

Gordon

Hi Torsten

Thank you for your reply
I am having issues adding pictures to this thread for some reason.

I will add them to my onlinne sharing platform and see if it will let me link directly to them and come back with images.

Thanks

Re: Query: HPE ML10 G9 Server iLO

When i powered up I got this
Boot up 1

Then I got this option

Boot up 2

So went into BIOS and these are only Boot options
Bios BOOT Options

So when looking to change there are only IP4 & IP6 options in boot modes
Bios BOOT Options 2

Any ideas?

I believe I need to alter the bios via iLO somehow to allow the server to boot from media and not from IP4 & IP6 not sure if that is correct and if it is really really not sure where to start

Re: Query: HPE ML10 G9 Server iLO

This is not "boot via ILO", but boot via PXE.

Is there an OS installed already?

WHat happens if you press F7 (screenshot 1)?

Hope this helps!

Re: Query: HPE ML10 G9 Server iLO

Your boot media is not detected, hence not bootable.

If the server is in UEFI mode, you need a UEFI enabled boot device, otherwise you need to boot in legacy mode.

Is your boot media known good?

Since it is from your old server, try legacy boot now.

Hope this helps!
