HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 with Oracle Linux 6.9 UEK4 Kernel
Hello Dear Sirs,
Did someone install Oracle Linux 6.9 on HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 with Xeon E5 v4 CPUs and used new default supplied UEK4 kernel based on 4.1 mainline? There is issue similar to Bug ID 22389972 described on Oracle Release Notes. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37670_01/E69348/html/section_ist_zgx_jp.html
Server boots, but there is black screen. Settings various vga=791, vga=788, vga=794 parameters or nomodeset does not resolve the issue.
RedHat compatible kernel works flawlessly.
Is Proliant G9 DL380 were tested with UEK4?
Thank You in advance.

Re: HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 with Oracle Linux 6.9 UEK4 Kernel
I managed to boot UEK4 kernel without specifying any vga modes, but resolution of console is unacceptable small. How I can get UEK4 functioning with vga=791?

You may need to use a combination of nomodeset and vga= options, or set the desired resolution in grub so it is passed to the OS

Re: HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 with Oracle Linux 6.9 UEK4 Kernel
Combination did not help either, we switched to RedHat Compatible kernels. There were to much unpredictable behaviour in 4.1, so we decided to revert including this with graphics.
