HPE ProLiant ML110 gen9 RAM upgrade

Hello,

I need to upgrade the RAM memory of this server. It came just with a DIMM of 8GB PC4-2400T.

My question is if I can use normal DDR4 DIMMs that I usually install on PC or if I need to go with the part numbers that HP recommend for my server. The price difference is huge, and the HP parts at this moment are hard to find.

Thanks in advance

Re: ML110 gen9 RAM upgrade

To add to the previous response, the reason you can't use desktop DDR4 is that the server won't turn on with non-error correcting RAM. For servers it's better to stick with what's qualified, and yes it will cost more than doing the same on a desktop.

Re: ML110 gen9 RAM upgrade

Thanks for both of your replies.

I've decided to purchase a couple of used 774172-001 RAMs from the list. So I'll make an upgrade of 32GBs to my server.
