HPE ProLiant dl360 Gen 9; Test Diagnostic error code: 020000

Hello all,

I'm trying to run a basic test diagnositics on a HPE ProLiant dl360 Gen 9 but it keeps failing on the "Total Memory" test. Error code 020000. I've updated to the latest software but I'm still recieving the message while everything else on the test diagnostic passed except for the memory tests. Unfortunately, I can't get the test logs because it won't save on my flash drive and I've tried multiple flash drives. It'll detect the flash drive but when I go to save it, an error message pops up. and the flash drives are all formatted to FAT32. I'm not sure if this is related/un-related or not but any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Firmware - Storage Controller: Version 6.06
BIOS - System ROM: Version 2017.10.25
Firmware - Storage Fibre Channel: Version 203x14
Firmware - Network: 20.6.61
Firmware - Lights Out Management: Version 2.55

We have a known working dl360 Gen 9 and we tested the RAM from the one that failed and it passed so we're not sure what the issue is.

Re: HPE ProLiant dl360 Gen 9; Test Diagnostic error code: 020000

I noticed similar problems on Gen9 and Gen10 servers. If I check the test results, there is a message about a "software error".... It seems the new hardware tests on G9 and G10 are simply rubbish. Furthermore the forgot to implement the memory "custom tests" on Gen10.
Also the test counter does not work properly. It counts the errors for the currently running test, but resets for every loop. So the total number of errors after x loops can not be found.

Maybe you better test your memory with 3rd party software like memtest86.

Hi,

We would suggest :
1. Update Intelligent Provisioning for Gen9 Servers :

2. To Monitor Server Health , you can Check the overall Health From ILO.

Hi,

Please update Intelligent Provisioning version 2.70 and run insight diagnostic(10.62)

this should work.

also

You can use SPP2018.06 and run Insight Diagnostic from it.

I haven't tried it yet because we had to part out the RAM and CPU in the server but I will definitely try when we get more components. Thank you for the assistance!
