HPSUM - option for silent, but display GUI?
Is there any way to run HPSUM in the /silent mode but still display the GUI for progress?
We've used setupc.exe for years and are accustomed to the line by line "status" that displays each item that is currently installing. If we use HPSUM then we have to wait to click "Next, OK, Install", whereas setupc.exe did not require any interaction but you could still see status of exactly where it hangs or fails. (yes I know we could sift through the log after)
Basically i'm hoping for an MSIEXEC equivalent of the /qb switch!
Thanks for your help.

Thanks Karlo, we create our own custom bundle (XML) file so I'll take a look at that CMD to see if i can mimic it.

Re: HPSUM - option for silent, but display GUI?
Hi,
If you are using a modified xml as input, there is no reason not to use setupc.
It still works fine.
What you need to do is get the remote deployment utility and run it from a directory different from the repository using /use-location:xyz ; latest version is msrdu_a_312.
Regards
dd
