Hanging SNMP Checks

Hi HP Community,

i have a problem with my snmp monitoring on our HP ProLiant Server. Hopefully somebody can help here out.

We use as operating systems Xen Enterprise 7.4 and install the latest version of HPE SNMP Agents for Citrix XenServer 7.x (https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=null&swItemId=MTX_c550f218f9594d59b9c0c99784)

If we execute locally on the server directly a snmpwalk with v2 and v3 it hangs for about 20 seconds. We also use Cacti as performance monitoring where we can see gaps when the hang is occure. Our monitoring is not useable in this situation.

If i comment out the line "dlmod cmaX /usr/lib64/libcmaX64.so" in the snmp config file /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf and restart the service, nearly all snmp checks will work again and also no more hangs on snmpwalk beside the HP checks, because the dynamically loadable module is missing.

SELinux is disabled on the server and also iptables is fine (snmpwalk is not work locally also)

We use ProLiant DL360p Gen8 and DL580 Gen8. This issue happen on all servers we have.

Is there somebody has an idea? I would be very grateful for help. We dont have any ideas anymore... maybe firmware update?

Re: Hanging SNMP Checks

FW Updates for ProLiant DL360p Gen8 are installed with newest Service Pack for ProLiant Gen 8.1.

It did not help for this issue.
