Hard Disk Configuration

I have a Proliant ML-350 that I would like to use as a lab server. I have an IDE 20GB disk, but no SCSI disks. When I boot from SmartStart it complains that there is no logical or physical disk(s) on the primary controller.

Do I have to have a SCSI hard disk on the System Feature Board in order to use this server? It's just a lab server, so I was hoping to get away with using a cheap IDE disk since I don't care about any SCSI characteristics...

Thanks in advance for any comments or advice!

Re: Hard Disk Configuration

IDE hard drives are not supported by the BIOS on the Server ( or any Compaq Servers ) . You'll need to install SCSI hard drives ....
