Hard Drive Add-On
I have a customer who wants additional space on their 1600 server. Currently they have a 5 bay hot-swap chassis with 3 - 9.1gb Wide-Ultra SCSI drives installed. Two questions... The quick reference refers to a part number 199888-001. Is this the same as the 123065 B22 Drive? If not, what part number should I be looking for? My second question is, if we add 2- 9.1 g. drives to the current array, will the array simply expand by 18.2 g. keeping the existing drive letters etc... or will I need to define additional logical drives?

Re: Hard Drive Add-On
1) Part number 199888-001 is a 9gb 1.6" Wide SCSI-3 hot pluggable hard drive. It's option (purchase) part number is 199882-001. Part number 123065-B22 is a 9gb 1" Wide-Ultra2 hot plug hard drive.
2) The PL1600 will be able to hold 2 more additional 9.1gb ht plug drives if they are 1" drives. The existing Array can be expanded w/the add'l 2 drives , but you must create the next logical for the 2 hard drives being expanded in the Array Configuration Utility. Your existing drive letters can be kept and the additional extra space after expansion has completed its process, can be extended across your existing drive letter(s) except drive letter C:.
