Hard Drive Upgrade

I want to replace and upgrade all my 4.3G harddrives with 9.1G harddrives. I have a raid controller and everything is running great, I just need more space. Can I shut down my server - remove and replace each hard drive and reboot the machine? Will the smart array controller automatically read and setup the new drives with out the loss of any of my data?

Re: Hard Drive Upgrade

Hello,
The best solution would be to make a full backup of your data. Update system BIOS and the firmware version of the controller. Then restore from the backup. The other way would be to: Once all the drives are changed by changing one at a time then create another logical drive because merely changing a smaller capacity drive with a larger capacity Hdd does not give you access to the extra space. If you need further assistance in the matter please feel free to contact our Tech Support by calling 1-800-652-6672 and have your S.No ready when you place the call.
Regards,
