HardDrives

I have a Proliant 6500R server that used to be the quad Pentium Pro 200 but we did the upgrade to make it a quad Xeon. It currently has the old 9.1G hot plug wide-ultra SCSI drives. Can this computer handle the latest ULTRA3 drives? I know that if it can, a drive cage upgrade is necessary. Please let me know if it can, and the part number for the upgrade cage.

Thank you

Re: HardDrives

Hi there,
I was interested in your upgrade to the xeon. What was the procedure to upgrade from the Pro 200s? Please reply directly to tenzing@home.com.

Thanks,
Tenzin

Re: HardDrives

In order to user Ultra2/3 drives a new storage cage ( Wide Ultra2/Ultra3 SCSI Drive Cage) would need to be replaced.

(Wide Ultra2/Ultra3 Drives require the purchase and installation of the Wide Ultra2/Ultra3 Storage Cage Option Kit (382158-B21.)) 382158-B21
