Harddisk replacement procedure in DL380 G3
Hi
I have a DL380 G3 server with 6402 RAID controller. RAID 5 is configured on it.
One of the Harddrives(SCSI) are failed.Now i want to replace the faulty one.
Could any1 plz tell me what is the exact replacement procedure n is there any precautionary steps i've to follow.
Ur help will be appreciated.

as always a good backup is recommended. if the drive red light is on you can pull it online and plug the new drive in. That's it.
If the drive is only prefailure status you have to shutdown the server, while power is off pull the wrong one, power on the server at F1 prompt fail the missing drive and then plug the new one.

Dear Fayyaz
As Akos said u simply can plug out the failed drive and plug in the new one and its done,
and In case of pre-failure u have to plug out faulty one after shutdown and plug in the new one after power up and select fail missing drives when prompted.
