Harddisks Proliant ML 350G

Hello,

our HP Proliant ML 350 G5  Server ( HP-Smart-Array E200i; 2 x 146 GB SAS 2,5 inch Raid 1 ) needs more storage-place for a mulutimedia-database. Can I add 2 Seagate 1TB  Constelllation SAS 2,5inch drives build in  an SAS Hot Swap harddisk-tray generatring a second raid 1 or expanding the existing one? Do I have to use the oroginal HP-drives only?

Hey,

you probably want to use the same model number. Besides that external drives might work. You might have trouble getting support if you use non-HP drives.

You probably want to create a new array. If you chose expand you will not be able to use all the space on the 1TB disks.
