Hardware Malfunction ProLiant ML350
I am running a new HP ProLiant ML350 and have experienced an error message on a blue screen which states (Hardware Malfunction call your vendor for support The system has halted) does anyone have experience with this message and know what the root cause could be? Is there a log within the system that records possible hardware errors? We are running XP Professional on this server and are new to the server arena. Would appreciate any applicaple responses to this delima.

Re: Hardware Malfunction ProLiant ML350
Start with server BIOS upgrade,
assuming you have ML350 G4 server use
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23734.html
Proliant support pack (PSP) include "HP ProLiant Integrated Management Log Viewer", in this viewer you can see hardware related error messages. There is no PSP for windows XP, but you can try to install PSP for windows 2000
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/22870.html
Run HP insight diagnostics utilites from windows (after PSP installation) or from SmartStart CD you receive with server (boot from SmartStart CD) and check for any errors.
And remember: Windows XP not supported on Proliant servers.

Did you install Proliant Support Pack v7.40? old driver of NIC can cause the server blue screen too.
