When a disk fails on our Proliant machine, MySQL slows to a crawl. I would like a warning from the machine about disk failure before it happens or to be able to confirm disk failure so I do not waste so much time trying to track down the mysql problem. Are there management tools for a

If you have that, you can install a drive as a spare drive. Spare drive will be come active when ever there is a drive failure in the server.

In any case, it looks like Proliant Service Pack will not work with my OS. Are there any other options?
