Hardware Raid for SSD Disks

Hello,

I have DL360e G8 and  I want to use Samsong EVO 850.

Please inform me which SSD disk we can use for better performance ? p410 or P420 ? or no different ?

Re: Hardware Raid for SSD Disks

If you aren't calling for troubles (and if you manage a Server...you should not call for troubles at all), do yourself a favour...download and read carefully latest HPE ProLiant DL360e Gen8 QuickSpecs to learn which options/restrictions there are regarding its storage subsystem's configuration (Supported Drives and HPE Smart Array Controllers).

Re: Hardware Raid for SSD Disks

SATA -III SSD drive, just 1? or 8?  and my guess is you want to go as fast as IT allows.
sure.
read the data sheet on each, at HP, each RAID controller, google for SSD bench marks, on the
Bench marks can vary even with the RAID card Firmware version. and cache size. (and drivers used)
my guess is the 420, would be fastest.
read 420 data sheet  page 5 here PD  see the SSD words there.? and page 2,  GB/s spec, sata and sas. and express speeds. and bench marks can lie, easy, testing is not easy, ask.

page 5 of  your system data sheet system. excepts below.  no 410 listed,  (note that please)

HP Dynamic Smart Array B320i Controller

HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i Controller

HP Dynamic Smart Array B320i/512MB FBWC Controller

HP Smart Array P420/1GB FBWC Controller (RAID 0/1/1+0/5/5+0+6/6+0)
end except. (just names)
