Hardware
Hi I have a Proliant 1600 500 Mhz and want to put in the second processor. Do I need the Thernal Upgrade Kit PN- 144003-B22? To install the second processor part # 401268-B21. I noticed that the book notes: The heatsink & processor guides are different fo the 500 Mhz.

Re: Hardware
let me answer it this way...if you dont get the thermal kit then there is a good chance that the heat will trigger thermal shutdowns...and also IF the heat from the two procs for whatver reason causes hardware damage without the thermal kit then that could be not covered under warranty if there is warranty left on your machine...it is in your best interest to get it..
