Has anyone successfully deployed Windows 2016 server on DL380 Gen8 using IP?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone successfully deployed Windows 2016 server on ProLiant DL380 Gen8 using IP? I have the latest IP 1.63.192 and have attempted the usual OS install. I have seen total failure; blue screens of death; absolutely sluggish performance; clear signs of abnormality throughout the OS experience;

I have deployed 2012 R2 just fine with the same IP on the same bare metal and everything worked as expected so there's something very wrong with the 2016 scripts that IP is pushing.

Anyone out there successfully deployed Windows 2016 server on DL380 Gen8 using IP? What did you do? At what point did you apply ProLiant Service Pack? What's the secret here guys?

The bare matal is known good box - have deployed 2012 R2 just fine and it runs with no indications of any anomaly.

Hi 

ProLiant ML350p Gen8  and   Intelligent Provisioning 1.61.45  -> working fine 2016  !

Prior  deployment :

HPE SPP 2017101.2017_1027.10.iso - full FW update

OS deployment from F11  Intelligent Provisioning 1

After  2 - 3 howers  strange  slow  deployment  is working fine with Win 2016 

After OS deloyment :

as long as you do not install   HPE SPP 2017101.2017_1027.10.iso   under  OS  you gonna be fine - at least in my case

i got 2 times  BSOD after  OS  SPP deployment so i finish with Windows Update only

So far so good 10 days working fine as DR Server :)

Thanks NIck,

So not installing SPP is fine but does windows update bring all proper drivers for the bare metal? That would be the only reason I would ever install HPE's SPP

Yep 100% working.

I have even skiped th Management Homepage also ......

It have like 15 VM`s  Hyper-v role 

4 x 2TB  RAID-5

I see no issues so far  ...... 10+ days 

P.S. - i forgot to mention this  :)

At the  intelligent Provisioning Wizard  it`s detecting  the provided  2016.iso   like   2012 R2  distribution  :)

But when you get  prestage done and you go to the GUI Setup is asking what 2016 version you like to have ( Std , Datacenter , Desktop or Core version )
