Having Trouble To Get Desk Top PC to Access Proliant M110 G7 Server
I am an inexperienced computer home user that has just had two computers die on me thus I have decided to instal a home server.
I have just purchased a Proliant G7 G840 server for home use. I have installed Microsoft Home Server 2011.
My problem is I am unable to access the server from a desk top PC running Windows XP Professional. The PC finds the server and loads the software for the connection, it asks for the sever password giving the correct hint, so I am assuming that the two are communicating at some level, but when I try to connect it states that the sever is not available.
The server "sees" my networked router, printer and media device but not the computer.
I would be grateful of any suggestions.
I am awaiting delivery of a new PC running Windows 7 Professional 64 so I am unable to see if another computer connects.
