Health LEDs

I have 2 proliant DL380 G2 servers. One has a green Interanl Health LED and yellow External Health LED, the other is the opposite with a yellow Internal Health LED and green External Health LED. How can I find out what exactly is causing these lights?

Oh, and both are running 2k advanced server it that matters....

Thanks.

Re: Health LEDs

I have a server with an Amber Internal Health light. I understand that that means "System Degraded", but how do I know what is bad that is causing the system to be degraded....

Thanks.

Re: Health LEDs

Did you check the hardware event log ?

Re: Health LEDs

Also open up the server and check if there are any amber leds on. If so, check the inside of the cover to find out the meaning.

Re: Health LEDs

Hi,
Have you got Insight Manager running in your environment? If not, have you atleast got the management agents installed on your server? You should have them installed on your server by default if you installed the OS through SmartStart CD.

Assuming, you have management agents installed on your server, in a browser window type http:\\localhost:2301 or https:\\localhost:2381 (if SSL enabled)
This should present you with complete system and its components health status.

You can thus find which component is responsible for the degraded health of your system and will explain the colorful LEDs.
