Help! DL385 G2 Server keeps restarting!
I have DL385 G2 server with CentOS 4.8 and it has been running fine for months. I have not made any changes, but all of the sudden over the past day it has began to shutdown on its own.
iLO2 log files indicate this:
Informational iLO 2 03/30/2010 19:48 03/30/2010 19:48 1 Server power restored.
Caution iLO 2 03/30/2010 19:48 03/30/2010 19:48 1 Server reset.
I went into BIOS and disabled the ASR.
I removed any programs from CentOS.
There is nothing I see in the iLO log files that would explain the system shutting down. The temps, voltage all look fine. No errors in the diagnostic display. It has Dual Power supplies and they both indicate they are working normally.
I have not changed the firmware or anything on the server.
Any ideas. This is a production server, so I am in a real bind.
I found out the warrenty expired about 6 months ago. I hate to call HP to service it, since the service trip would probably cost more than a new server.
Thanks for any help.
-Mike

Re: Help! DL385 G2 Server keeps restarting!
A follow up. In the iLO web page, the IML has this entry, but I have not way of knowing what the error is?
Caution POST Message 03/30/2010 20:02 03/30/2010 20:02 1 POST Error: A Critical Error occurred prior to this power-up
How do you find out what the POST error was?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Help! DL385 G2 Server keeps restarting!
Have you checked your firmware revisions? That's the first thing HP will ask you anyway.
There was an ILO2 FW/driver conflict that would do that, but that was in the Windows environment.
