Help: How do I rid of the elect. cover lock?

Hi,

I am not sure if a Proliant 1500 has an elect. cover lock or not?

If so, then mine seems to have
locked up spontaneously, since I am no longer able to open the cover, unless by brute force.

I did not find any option in the configuration setup.

Question: how do I remove the lock.

Thanks,
Peter

Re: Help: How do I rid of the elect. cover lock?

Hi Peter:

Removing the PL1500R Rack Model Cover:
1. Turn the 1/4 turn release screws (3) on the front panel.
2. Slide the cover back and up
3. There is no Electrical or Mechanical Lock

If you have a Tower Model it also has no Electrical or Mechanical Cover Lock

Just use a flat blade screwdriver to lever Cover Panel off after turning release screws. Then fix cause of jamming.

Re: Help: How do I rid of the elect. cover lock?

Hi Ron,

Thanks for your reply. I had
to use brute force to remove
the cover. It was blocked by one of the elements that sustains the boards.
Anyway, since it was an old server it was not really a problem to damage the case a little.

Thanks.
Peter
