Hi.
My server dont show the F8 setup for the 6i Controller.
I have tried another Adaptech pci-x controller, working ok, but it´s only support 4 drives i stribes. ( 6x176 Gb installed )
I installed windows server and when i start online ACU, system hang. No BSOD.
Tried the smartstart cd, result is linux cmd line.
Is the 6i controller dead ?
Or does mainboard have switch to disable 6i controller.
Anyone, any ideas what is wrong ????

Re: Help for DL380G4 SA 6i error
Please make sure the drive bios is up-to-date by running the firmware updae DVD, here:
You should also make sure you have the latest drivers install on the O/S, here:
Please let us know how these updaes go?

Re: Help for DL380G4 SA 6i error
Hi.
I tried your suggestions.
The firmvare update software 10. 10 is just ending up in reboot loop, whatever i use " automatic og manual " install/update method.
In windows 2008 server 64 bit, devicemanager show raidcontroller with yellow exclamationmark on it.
The driver install says no hardware is supported.
Firmvare update says the OS is not supported. ( This is 2 part download, but the second is not working )
Is the " switch 6 " reset the solution ?
Do I have to take out my adaptech raid controller before firmware updating 6i ?

Re: Help for DL380G4 SA 6i error
I am sorry, I should have specified to use version 9.1C of the DVD, here:
This is a 1 part download that you can build an ISO from. It will help you get your system in good shape.
As for the easy way to install the drivers needed, you should use the SmartStart CD, here:
Be sure to install SNMP services so you can report on the server.
As for the adaptec controller, no, you don't need to remove it. HP drivers will only load on HP devices. You should get that driver from adaptec if it is an out of the box controller.

Re: Help for DL380G4 SA 6i error
I tried the 9.10 dvd but no luck.
No firmware need to be updated.
Well I took out the adaptec controller. I noticed that the SYSERR led is on, when server is powered on.
Hardware failure ?

Re: Help for DL380G4 SA 6i error
yes; that is an indicator of some hardware error. Look inside the box for the lit LED to indicate what is faulting. You can find a listing of the components on the inside pannel of the server as a quick reference. If you need more reference, please use the User Gude, here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00218203/c00218203.pdf
Good luck!
