Help needed

Ok this is the situation, I never worked with HP servers, up to now. Recently I started internship in a firm and they have DL 380 G6 servers. Also at the same time main administrator got fired and everything is now on me. Unfortunately that admin didn't made any documentation. And now problems 1st problem is when I try to use HP insight manager I can log on ove server with local admin pass , but on the other server he rejects username and pass. Is there any option to reset password. 2nd problem is that former admin said that he configured 0+1 RAID but there are only 2 SAS HDD in rack. So which program can I use to read that raid info. Thanks in advance I am new with no previous exp. any help is wellcome

Re: Help needed

thanks for reply it was very useful. I have a another question. When I try to install Insight manager there is an error. TCP/IP is not enabled. So I found that error is occurring because in SQL server manager is not enabled and there is solution to this problem, but when I enable TCP/IP in SQL manager , and restart server/service it continue to appear and I cannot install HP manager. Any Ideas ?
I realize that on one G6 server is everything installed, but on the second G6 everything but HP insight manager.
Second when I start Array diagnostic there is an error :

Smart Array P410i in slot 0 : Physical Drive 2I:1:5The physical drive has failed.Smart Array P410i in slot 0 : Physical Drive 2I:1:8The physical drive has failed.Smart Array P410i in slot 0 : SAS Array BThe array has failedSmart Array P410i in slot 0 : Logical Drive 2This logical drive has failed and cannot be used. All data on this logical drive has been lost.

any suggestions ??

Re: Help needed

Hi Alex,

>> When I try to install Insight manager there is an error
The following docs gives you the procedure to install and configure the
HP systems insight manager.

* HP Systems Insight Manager Installation and Configuration Guide for HP-UX
http://docs.hp.com/en/418810-001/

* HP Systems Insight Manager 6.0 Installation and Configuration
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02051908/c02051908.pdf

Have you referred these for your installation.
They might already have the answer you are searching for.

Re: Help needed

I found the problem. Smart array P410i has 2 configured logical drives. 1st is SAS array A raid 1 with 2x500 GB , and has no problems, second is SAS array B with configured raid 1 but no SAS HDD inserted in the sockets. So I have to read how many arrays can be configured per P410i to find some schematic for HP DL 380 G6 server so I can identify cases and trays. And I think to delete that B array since it is not in the use.

Re: Help needed

It is not related to this theme, but I have a problem with RRAS on win 2k8 R2standard server. It shows me this error :
Windows was unable to add this computer to the list of valid remote access servers in the Active Directory. Before you can use this server as a remote access server, you need to have domain administrators add this server to the list.
RRAS is not on DC, I added RRAS account in RRAS/IAS group in ADUsers and COmputers.
If someone has a solution I would be really greatfull
