High Fan Noise - ML370
I have a Compaq Proliant ML370 with exttreemly high fan noise. The BIOS Rom has been updated to the latest version. Has anyone any ideas on this?
Thanks in advance.

Re: High Fan Noise - ML370
Are the HP/Compaq system management drivers loaded ? These can reduce fan noise because they monitor temperature and control fan speed.
(but the system will still be noisy)

Re: High Fan Noise - ML370
Hey Simon,
I had the same problem with the DL320. I installed the "HP ProLiant Advanced System Management Controller" and it solved the problem. It reduce the noise by 75%. I barely hear it anymore. The only time I hear it is when I reboot the server.
Check to see if you can get it for the ML370.
Have a good one...

Re: High Fan Noise - ML370
Load the Proliant Support Pack 6.3a. You should anyway!
Otherwise you will never be able to have QFM - Quiet Fan Mode.
