High Temperature Shutdown

Can you please advise me of the default temperature at which the machine will fail/shut down in the event of environment overheating, i.e. if aircon fails? I need this information in order to specify aircon capacities for a new comms room. Is this temperature also the default for oher ProLiant models? Thanks

Re: High Temperature Shutdown

Here are the operating temperatures.Operating 50? to 93?F/ 10? to 35?C.
Anything above the 93/35 degree mark you can expect a thermal shutdown.

Re: High Temperature Shutdown

Are there any guidelines on how long one can leave a Compaq server running in "the danger zone", say between 30C and 35C. Or could one leave a server running at 34.99999C forever and a day?

Re: High Temperature Shutdown

The system management driver will do a thermal shut down if it hits the 35 degree mark. It will run fine at 34.999 degrees.

Re: High Temperature Shutdown

Thanks for that Mark, I understand.

What I was really after was a qualitative answer, such as "we do (or we don't) recommend you push your server to the limit". Opinions welcome!

My organisation has 20+ sites and I have some dreadful server room environments to work with. One or two of them are averaging 32C, awaiting expensive air con work.
