High pitched noise when power on.

Just got a 5000R with quad processors, 512MB ram, 5 X 4.3 gig hard drives, and a SP-2 array controller. When the system is switched on, there is a loud piercing sound like some kind of an alarm, but does not seem to be coming from the speaker, or the hard drives. Suspect from the power supply. Noise does not stop until unit is powered down. Am a novice with servers, so any recommendations are welcome. Have other problems with array controller, but this noise needs to go first. Thanks.

Hi, power supply would be my guest also. These problem might be hard to diagnose. Sugg also to run diag.

hard drive firware update could also be one.
