Hot plug PCI on DL580
I've been looking all over the compaq web site to try and find something that would explain how to enable a PCI slot once i've inserted a card into the slot. I'm trying to enable a Creative Labs sound blaster. I've tried installing Insight, but all I can see is that the slot (slot 2) is powered down and there is no card in the slot. I know that if I reboot the machine it should see the card, however I would like to not have to reboot the machine if possible. Thanks

Re: Hot plug PCI on DL580
I would recommend looking at the Q&A and view the "What is required to have full PCI Hot Plug functionality in my system?" area at:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/technology/pci-hotplug-enablement.html
You might be able to get this to work, but I don't think a sound blaster card is capable of pci hotplug.

The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..
