Hot swap drive question
I have a DL380 with hot swappable drives. One of the drives failed and we have replacement drive and have removed failed drive and replaced drive, but the new drive is also flashing that it is bad. It there any configuation that must be done to get the new drive online? Compaq support said 'No" just plug and play and it will start striping. We are running netware 5.1 if that helps.

Re: Hot swap drive question
So what did support say besides "No"? Did they say it's rebuilding now? A bad drive will normally not have a flashing led, but a solid red one.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: Hot swap drive question
Jeff,
The drive is currently in the rebuilding state. When it is finished, the flashing yellow will go away.
If you have the Compaq Array Configuration Utility installed, you should see the the a progress bar the rebuilding process.
Regards,
Greg
