Hot swapping a bad HD on Proliant DL360 G4, HD still shows failed
Hello,
Yesterday I had a drive go out on a DL 360 G4. I replaced the drive overnight and let it run. This morning there are no lights on the drive and it shows the following on the Array Diagnostic Utility:
SLOT SUMMARY: Slot Num Slot Type Array Controllers and Host Adapters Detected -------- --------- -------------------------------------------- SLOT 0 PCI Smart Array 6i Controller SLOT 0 Smart Array 6i Controller ERROR REPORT: Unable to communicate with drive on SCSI Port 2, Drive ID 4 Logical drive 2 status = Failed SCSI Port 2, drive ID 4 failed - REPLACE
Did I miss a step or is it still trying to work through it?
Thanks.

Did you try anothr drive?
It might be that the first replacement was faulty also?
Once a drive has rebuilt, the little 'barrel' shaped LED should go solid green to show that it is part of the logical drive.
