How can I Decode the Part No of HP

I have one HP HDD Part No. It is 416127-B21.

How can we decode this Part Number without internet HP Online Website or Google etc.

Is there any matrix or logic for that to decode the part number to product specification.

If you have then please reply me.

Thanks in advance

Re: How can I Decode the Part No of HP

This is a HP 300GB 15K RPM SAS 3.5 INCH HARD DRIVE - the product numbers are just increasing for new products.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: How can I Decode the Part No of HP

I understand you don't want to know what part number this is, but "...Is there any matrix or logic for that to decode the part number to product ...", right?

No, no logic.

A new product get the next available product number (it works more or less this way).

You know this already from advisory numbers and softpaq numbers...

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: How can I Decode the Part No of HP

So what's up with part numbers like AP836A?

Re: How can I Decode the Part No of HP

It's more or less the same.

123456-abc is previous Compaq style (Proliant)

A1234A is previous HP style (mainly for enterprise class products) - the only "logic" in this number is the first letter (for enterprise class -, customer-, network products etc.)

Hope this helps!
